20 years ago and older, a Disney animated film was cause for celebration and a night out at the movies.  You always knew a certain quality was there.  You could count on it.  These days, not so much, and that is a real shame.  Strange World leaves many things to be desired, unfortunately. Will and Ryan.  Ryan and Will.  Bros for sure.  Spirited brings a fun holiday musical both hilarious and up beat.  Sure it suffers from simple problems like story beats and characters not really making sense, but to there ARE some very clever moments.  Like Jacob Marley asking them not to breakout into song every time they have a new development in the plot.  Tracey Morgan is no Norm McDonald, but he's an okay death.  As always, Ryan Reynolds is worth the time spent.  Maybe not Will Ferrell but he's not bad either.   SPIRITED, Dir. One of the most famous novels about war ever written is once again adapted to the big screen.  This Netflix adaption does so many things right.  Paul Baumer goes from a world of a young boy- friends around him and a small life in a German town to the the absolute horrors of the The Great War.  At Two hours and twenty minutes, the film is a commitment but a damn good one.  One of the best things Netflix has put out all in a while.  Choose original German language track OR English voice over, though the movie hits harder when watched with the original German language tracks.   ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT, Dir.
