Diagnosis of a terminal illness brings with it an immediate reshuffling of priorities, as well as a wealth of new challenges and concerns. On January 1, 2024 a new reporting requirement goes into effect that will require millions of small businesses to file a Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report with the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). In 2021 Congress imposed this requirement in a statute called the Corporate Transparency Act. Every small business owner needs to know about this new reporting requirement as non-compliance can result in severe penalties, yet the realty is the overwhelming majority of small businesses either have no idea what the CTA is or have no idea if they’ll be required to report. This massive lack of understanding is a huge red flag. Fred Gleeck has been marketing and selling information for over 35 years, beginning with shipping audio and video cassettes around the country, then moving online in the mid-90s. Drakulich Foundation for Freedom of Expression aka DJD Foundation offers art and recreation programs that help establish connections thereby improving the quality of life for those valiant community members. People end up being homeless due to circumstances that went out of their control. There’s a wrong perception that homelessness is a choice and these people would rather stay on the streets than find a job. However, the best service one can provide to homeless people is providing them with the resources to secure a job so they can sustain a household. Employment can play an important role in recovery. People with histories of homelessness, including those with disabilities, often want to work given the opportunity and support to do so. When people who previously experienced homelessness are placed in housing, many develop feelings of isolation.
