Unspoiled! The Constant: Lost

Well, look at that! It's a Kate episode and we both actually really enjoyed it! And not just because Nathan Fillion is a guest star (but that doesn't hurt). No, in this episode Kate does most things right, and it's a refreshing change. Jack also decides to perform Ben's surgery, but he's got some stipulations: he'll sew up the damage he personally caused as long as Kate and Sawyer are allowed to escape. Will this gamble work, or will he let Ben die? WE SHALL SEE!

And now we say goodbye to Mr. Eko. It's a satisfying end to his story, but it still sucks to see him go. On the Other Island, Jack is faced with the prospect of doing surgery on Ben's spinal tumor, and Juliet proposes he just let Ben die on the table. We're guessing Mr. I'm Gonna Fix You doesn't have it in him to do such a thing, even if it is the best move he could make.

We're back! Thank you for your patience during our longer-than-planned hiatus. But now that we're finished with our individual travels and healthy again, you won't be getting rid of us so easily! Mwahaha. On to the show! In this episode, we learn that Ben knows exactly how to get Sawyer to behave, and that the con man can be conned. Kate says the "L" word about Sawyer, but we're not sure if she's telling the truth. Jack plays an angle with Juliet that leads nowhere, because his surgeon skills are needed NOW and there's no more time for mind games. And they're on an OTHER ISLAND! How about that!

BOOOOONE.  I mean, Locke goes on a vision quest and his guide is Boone. He is instructed to save Eko FROM A POLAR BEAR, which he and Charlie successfully do. Elsewhere, Desmond is running around naked and seeing the future. And there's these two randos who seem to think they're part of the group, but we've never seen them before. Shut up, Nikki.

This is a really short one, guys. We just had so little to say about this episode. We didn't learn anything new, really, and it just mostly felt like filler. I can't even think of anything to write about it here. Sun's a liar. Jin knows more English than he lets on. Sayid is smart, but not so smart that he can outsmart the Others who have cameras or spies on the island. They lose the boat. Sun shoots a woman. Jack finds out that the Red Sox actually won the World Series while he's been on the Island. I bet Christian Shepherd wishes he were alive for that.  We'll be back with a much more exciting episode next week!

It's very possible that season 3 is my favorite, so you can imagine how excited I am to get started. In this episode, Jack learns to let go, Sawyer learns how to get a fish biscuit, - not a euphemism - and Kate learns...nothing, really. But her hair looks great and she gets to wear a dress, so that's something. We also meet Juliet, who is probably the character I've been most excited to get to talk about after Desmond, so yeah. I'm super psyched that we've reached this season. Thank you to everyone who wrote reviews for us! Ooh, Desmond is back! And we learn about his time pushing the button. There's a statue of a foot with four toes. Michael and Waaaaaaaaaaaalt get on a boat and vamoose the fuck off The Island. Locke and Eko battle over their existential crises and Desmond initiates the failsafe. Everything shakes. The sky goes white, and purple. There's a loud noise. The Hatch blissfully blows up. Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are taken captive by The Others. "Henry Gale" is indeed their leader. Some Portuguese-speaking men on a boat somewhere in a cold climate notice an electromagnetic anomaly and make a phone call. To Penny. Desmond's Penny. Listen as we discuss all this excitement with guest host Maggie! And come back next week when we start Season 3!

In this episode we learn what actually happened to Michael when he went to find Walt, and why he has gone to the extreme and twitchy measures that he has. Does that mean we forgive him? Hell. No. We are very much Team Smartypants Sayid, who figures out very quickly that Michael has been compromised and is probably leading four of them into a trap. Now it's a matter of whether Jack actually listens to Sayid or not.

It seems that Locke only likes these Island Quests when he's the one being sent on them. It's not so fun for him when he's the one being forced to follow. This time it's Eko on a mission, and what he finds is another damn hatch. Meanwhile, we officially lose Libby. Screw you, Michael.

Goddamn it, Michael! What more can I say?This is one of the episodes I was most excited to talk about with Krista, especially after how much she ended up loving both Ana-Lucia and Libby. Hopefully she'll recover from the loss.

Well, Krista finally gets her Rose and Bernard episode, and it's a sweet story. We don't learn too much, other than the fact that the Island healed more than just Locke with its magical powers.

In this episode we are joined by another Unspoiled co-host, Chris a.k.a. Money...or maybe it's all in our heads. We discuss Hurley's terrible therapy, fatshaming, whether Libby is a lying liar like everyone else, and why Ana-Lucia should know better than to allow a gun to be shot off in a concrete room where it could ricochet and hit someone.

Unspoiled Co-host Maggie joins us to talk about that crazy liar Henry, Locke's daddy issues, how awesome Helen is, why Sayid should be the leader of everything ever, and maybe a little about Jack and Sawyer's dick-measuring poker match.

In this episode, Sun is a lying liar and Jin is a controlling jerk. Wait...I thought we were in season 2. What the hell is this? Meanwhile, Ana-Lucia teams up with Sayid because, for now at least, they are the only people on this whole damn island with any sense.

We go on a trip down memory lane in this episode, as Claire tries to remember what happened to her when Ethan kidnapped her. It turns out she was brainwashed or something, and was totally willing to give up Aaron, and her life, to The Others, but a ~mysterious~ teenage girl set her free.Meanwhile, Eko makes a confession to Henry, whose motivations are still a question mark, and Jack and Locke continue their power struggle.

In this episode we meet the mysterious Henry Gale. Is he a liar? Is he being truthful? Or should we just trust Sayid's instincts? We don't know yet, but we do know that we shouldn't trust Jack's. He's an idiot.

What can I say about this episode? We started out talking about Sawyer's conning abilities, and ended up with almost 15 minutes of Krista's whacked-out guesses on what's going to happen on the show. She's experiencing what those of us who watched this as it aired did: complete WTF-ery. Did she get anything right? Maaaaaaybe. Maaaaaaaaybe not. She'll just have to wait and see, just like we all did.

And we're back! And we get to talk about what a dumbass Charlie is being, and how if he just stopped acting like a lunatic and explained to Claire what was going on, that he'd probably find himself less ostracized and not in need of stitches. But that's not how things work on The Island, so instead of a nice story about a guy thinking a baby needs a baptism, we get a guy being an idiot and stealing a baby.

Ok, I'll be honest with you: we didn't love this episode. But here's the good news: from this point on, the season is firing on all cylinders. It's only uphill from here. We just have to get through this Jack episode, that's all. Be sure to listen all the way to the end. There's a little bonus for those of you who enjoy when we get super ridiculous.

It's a Mr. Eko episode, and it did not disappoint! Krista sort of gets an answer to whether or not Eko is a priest, and we find out that the plane that killed Boone also killed Eko's brother Yemi. Oh, and we get a really good look at the Smoke Monster. WHAT IS IT?
