  • Top 4 Exceptions To The No Discount Rule #741

    11/12/2019 Duración: 02min

Discounting is always a hot topic, whether you're selling a Product or a Service. Many experts say you should never discount as it devalues what you do. Others say it's the only way to survive. The folks at The Futur reckon the best best approach is a No Discount Rule - with a few exceptions. Here's a link to the great little deck they put together on it... https://www.instagram.com/p/B52ssScJ9Qa/?igshid=19od37s2nu04f #discounting #pricingstrategy #pricing #selling

  • A Social Network With A One-Post-Per-Day Limit #740

    10/12/2019 Duración: 02min

Social Networks seem to have all geared up to post MORE. Sure, Quality is always going to be a huge variable of success. BUT...Quality is subjective, it's allusive, it's constantly being redefined. xSo as a result, we feel compelled to just keep posting MORE. But what if you could only make ONE-POST-PER-DAY ? Would that lead to a higher quality of content being posted? Maybe? Would it mean you follow more and more diverse people, brands & businesses? Probably. It's an interesting concept. NB: Thanks to @garyvee   #socialnetworks #content #innovation #marketing

  • An Impact of One, Never Stops At One #739

    09/12/2019 Duración: 04min

Making an impact is something we all want to do, in one form or other. And this is especially true of those who produce content. But never forget that it only takes ONE person to be impacted by what you put out for it all to be worthwhile. Because, in fact, An Impact One, Never Stops at One. Case in point... Laura Meeson picked up on my idea about telling your own personal little Christmas story as part of your overall content strategy.  We all have a story. Each one is unique. And each person in your company who shares their story will give your customers just one more insight into who you are and what you are as a brand, business and company too. And Laura's story was extremely moving. Here' it is, if you missed it... https://www.linkedin.com/posts/lauracattigan_thanks-trent-munday-for-the-inspiration-behind-activity-6609544868031184896-gOmJ   #storytelling #contentstrategy #brand

    08/12/2019 Duración: 02min

Giving your customers and clients insights into the people behind your business or your brand goes a long way towards building a stronger bond with them. And the backdrop of Christmas provides a perfect opportunity to do that. Everyone has their own special little Christmas story - be it happy or sad or funny anywhere in between. So, if you're looking for some interesting content ideas this holiday season, look no further than just having your people tell their unique Christmas story.   #contentstrategy #storytelling #contentideas #contentmarketing

  • Why Your Content Needs To Be Entertaining, Not Engaging #737

    07/12/2019 Duración: 01min

We tend to focus on producing content that is Engaging. Elemis CEO Sean Harrington says we should be aiming for Entertaining, not Engaging. I think he’s got a good point. #contentcreation #contentmarketing #engagementmarketing

  • I’m Sick - And There’s A Lesson In Content Creation In That For You #736

    06/12/2019 Duración: 01min

Pretty much the Golden Rule of anyone who wants to publish content on daily or even weekly basis is to make sure you have a back up plan. Make sure you have at least 1 or 2 episodes of ready to go at any one time. Because you never know when you might get sick and not be able to create your regular post. Or maybe you'll have a technical issue that prevents you from posting today for whatever reason. And that content should be evergreen content that will not date...because you never know when you might need to post it. That IS the Golden Rule...but I still don't do it. Today, I wish I did. #contentcreation #contentdelivery #backupplan #contentcalendar

  • Aural Architecture - How Buildings Sound & Why Spas Must Listen #734

    04/12/2019 Duración: 02min

The field of Aural Architecture is a fascinating one and certainly something that Spas should be aware of. It's all about the relationship between sound and buildings and spaces. And Cymatics - the way structures vibrate. And Sonically Interactive Structures. It might sound a bit like something out of a Sci Fi movie but much of the research and technology is already here. There's a great article right here for you to learn more about it... https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20190729-how-the-sound-in-your-office-affects-your-mood NB: Special thanks to Candy Holladay for the heads up on this super-fascinating topic.   #acoustics #architecture #sound #auralarchitecture

  • Embrace Your Routine, Save Time And Get Smarter #733

    03/12/2019 Duración: 02min

Oftentimes we look at Routines and Habits as a negative thing. If we stick to our same Routines and continue with the same Habits, we get stuck in a rut. But the great thing about following Routines & Habits is that it allows you to flick into cruise control.  Our internal automatic pilot takes over and we don't need to really think about what we're doing. And right there, right at that point where we don't need to think about it, we have the chance to focus on other thoughts. This is a great opportunity for us to learn new things and explore new ideas. To innovate. To create. So embrace your Routines & Habits - and use your newly found Think Time wisely.   #thinking #routines #habits #freetime #innovate #

  • How A Broad Brand Definition Could Save Your Business #732

    02/12/2019 Duración: 02min

Kodak is an awesome Case Study in branding. What was once one of the most powerful brands in the world, today seems to barely clinging to existence. Sure, they face some massive changes in technology which went to the core of their legacy business. But, maybe if they had a clear, over-arching brand definition, they would've been able to better identify new opportunities and navigate the changing landscape. The best brand definition is broad enough to do that, yet narrow enough to provide focus for the current business. #branding #marketing #technology #adaptability

  • The Double-Edged Sword Of The Cloud Wage #731

    01/12/2019 Duración: 03min

The concept of the Cloud Wage is that, if workers do not have to physically be in a specific location to do their job, then that job could, in theory be done by any individual, anywhere in the world. A Cloud Wage suggests the skill and ability to complete the task is all that matters - regardless of where that person lives. This creates great opportunities for those in poorer countries to get paid higher salaries by working on tasks for companies from richer countries. It represents an opportunity to raise the standard of living of those in poorer countries by increasing their salary. Great. But I believe it's a double-edged sword. I see the Cloud Wage driving down salaries in the richer countries. #cloudwage #wageequality #globlaeconomy

  • Integrity Always Pays In The Long Run #729

    29/11/2019 Duración: 01min

A great lesson in Integrity from the folks in charge of the Barangaroo Reserve in Sydney, Australia. They've set aside 50% of this prime development land for Green Spaces. Of course, this adds a Wellness element to the city. It also respects the original indigenous owners of the land. But it also makes real smart commercial sense too. Tune in to see what they've done.   #greenspaces #sydneyharbour #wellness

  • Penguin Books Classics - No Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words #728

    28/11/2019 Duración: 02min

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words. We've all heard it before. But it seems like Penguin Books, arguably the best know book publisher of all, might not agree. A recent visit to a bookstore uncovered what I call 'Penguin Plain Label Classic Books'. All these books look exactly the same as each other. Only the Title and Author Name is different.  They are all well known books by well known authors, but they are all basically Penguin Books. The ONLY branding on these books at all is Penguin. I guess it's an attempt to drive home the Penguin brand. But I'm not sure it's smart...or right. What do you think? #bookpublishing #branding #generic #authors #books

  • Connect On Social, Then Get Them Onto Your Platform #727

    27/11/2019 Duración: 02min

The smartest people I know on have the same key strategy when it comes to Social Platforms... Connect on Social...but then, get them off on to your own platform as soon as possible. Your platform might be nothing more than just an email database. It might be a monthly newsletter or a Free eBook. Whatever it is, just get them off Social, and on to your place. #socialplatforms #socialnetworks #connections

  • If You’re Going To Be On LinkedIn...LINK! #726

    26/11/2019 Duración: 02min

On Linkedin, one of the very first pieces of information people will see about you is what you write in the Headline section of your profile. So, a great tip from James Tuckerman (that I totally agree with, by the way!) is to put your email address in that section too. It just makes it so much easier for people to connect with you. After all, that's really the whole point of Linkedin, right? Trent's little EXTRA TIP would be, rather than your email address, include the web address for your blog or personal website. If you have any useful, professional sort of content posted online, put that in there. This way, rather than just send you an email, people who are interested can find a way to learn more about who YOU really are. #linkedinprofile #linkedinmarketing #linkedin #connecting

  • Trent’s Secret To A Happy Life - No Right Answers #725

    25/11/2019 Duración: 02min

After 50 years on this planet, I figured I'm now qualified to offer up some sage advice. So, I wanted to share the most important lesson I've learned over the years... In Life, there are NO Right Answers! We seem to spend so much of our time worrying about making the wrong decision that we don't make any decision at all. We're continually seeking THE answer. The RIGHT answer. The problem is, often times there is no right answer...until after you've made the decision.  Only after you've made the call will truly be able to know if it's the right answer or not. Don't let the uncertainty cripple you or eat you up. Just make the best decisions you can, with the best information available and with the best intentions. Ultimately, that's the best you can do. #happiness #successfullife#happylife #secrettolife #meaningoflife

  • First Watch Your Users, Then Design Your Space #724

    24/11/2019 Duración: 02min

Have you noticed how so many people these days are carrying their refillable water bottles with them everywhere - including at work. Even for those who work front of house in retail or banks and numerous other businesses. I know they are, because I keep seeing their water bottles sitting around in the customer area. Why? Simple! Because these spaces have not been designed to reflect this recently changed behaviour of carrying water bottles around. So, if you're designing spaces, watch what your users are doing today...not what they've done in the past. #interiordesignideas #customerbehaviour #marketresearch

  • Maybe Pubs Could Be An Even Big Threat to WeWork #723

    23/11/2019 Duración: 01min

Co-Working Concepts have been extremely popular in recent years. On the back of the prevailing WeWork controversy, maybe some of that interest will wane. But here in Melbourne, I think I've uncovered significant untapped potential on the supply side AND something that could even disrupt the likes of WeWork and the other incumbents. Pubs...the untapped potential and potential disruptor to the Co-Working model.   #wework #coworking #disruption

  • How Hotels Can Dominate The Cloud Kitchen Space #722

    22/11/2019 Duración: 02min

Cloud Kitchens are essentially shared kitchen spaces that support delivery only. They offer no dine-in facilities or services. And they are becoming really popular. I believe there is an opportunity here for hotels to make better use of their kitchen facilities, resources & training. Similar to what I first discussed may back in Ep. 13 of the Trent365 Show, where I spoke about the opportunity for hotels to win the Gig Economy. Here's that episode if you'd like to revisit it... https://trentmunday.podbean.com/mf/play/jjmtbs/s_b353d0_podcast_play_80070_https_3A_2F_2Fs3-us-west-2_amazonaws_com_2Fanchor-data_2Fstationexports_2Fpodcasts_2FEp-13-Hotels-Win-Gig-Economy--5a49ef3899296.m4a   #cloudkitchen #sharingeconomy #gigeconomy #businessmodels
