Comic-Con has officially been canceled so this podcast is just 2 hours of Joel crying... JK! While SDCC isn't happening this year, Star Wars celebration has yet to cancel amidst the growing Covid-19 concerns. Other topics this week include: Sony stupidly names their stupid Spider-Man universe, Vid Diesel and the producers guild butt heads, the Russo brothers are working the live-action Hercules remake, and for one year only streaming films will be eligible for the 2021 Academy Awards!  This week's main topic follows up with AMC's drama from the last podcast.  Universal and AMC seem to be fighting, resulting in AMC saying they'll no longer screen Universal movies! GASP! 

Look, there's not much going on in the world, we talk about what we've all been watching (yes that includes TIGER KING!) and then we discuss the sad reality that AMC may have to close its doors forever! 

With everyone on quarantine, we unfortunately have to deliver you all another skype-cast (well, google hangouts this time) With Hollywood shutdown indefinitely, not only have all three of us been affected work-wise, but dozens of blockbusters including Black Widow, Wonder Woman 1984, James Bond 25... and many more have been delayed until later this year! Films currently in production, like Mission Impossible 7, have also been put on hold until further notice.  Amidst all of this, some studios are opting to release their films straight to VOD... how will all of this change the shape of the industry and will we ever see a movie in theaters again!? Tune in to hear our thoughts on where the global pandemic could push our industry!

The gang is back!  Bust our your beret because there's a new Wes Anderson movie trailer out!  Marvel has tapped Sam Raimi to take over for Doctor Strange 2 and Joel busts out his tinfoil hat to try and connect this news to the Sony Spider-Verse!  We look back at our Oscar predictions and weigh them against the results and we break down the first ever footage of Robert Pattinson in the new Batman suit!  There's much more news stuffed into this episode but the main course is a Birds of Prey review! I bet you can guess who in this group wasn't a big fan...

Welcome back nerds! There were a ton of new trailers this week!  We have ANOTHER New Mutants trailer, we see Jared Leto get emo in Morbius, and Daniel Radlcliffe gets fucking guns bolted to his hands in Guns Akimbo!  We break down the news that Scott Derrickson has sadly exited the Dr. Strange sequel, HBO is not going to pursue a Watchmen sequel, and Colin Trevorrow's (boooo) Star Wars episode IX script has leaked... uh oh...  We round out this episode with a breakdown of all the 2020 Oscars nominees!  All of this AND MORE on this week's episode! 

The gang has been watching A LOT lately; Jumanji 2, Marriage Story, Mrs. Maisel, The Expanse! This week's "What We've Been Watching" is STACKED.  Before the main course, the news of the week has rumors of a Moon Knight casting, the Agents of Shield going galactic, and a certain Nickelodian obstacle course show coming back... for adults.  Then we take a deep, deep, deep, dive into STAR WARS: The Rise of Skywalker.  Surprisingly (or maybe not?) there are some differing opinions on the movie.  Tune in to find out who hates or loves what, and WHY!?

There really wasn't any huge news this week, and we all couldn't make time to see the same movie... So we're bringing back the all news cast!  If I previewed all that here, you'd have no reason to listen to the episode... So just listen to it already!  Alright I'll give you a little taste... We talk some MAD shit on people who tweeted about releasing the Snyder cut...  

It's our 50th episode! 50! Over four years! And in true Pop! Pop! fashion... We did absolutely nothing special for the occasion.  We are consistent (??) though because we've got some nerd news for you all! Colin Farrell and Andy Serkis have been tapped to play The Penguin and Alfred resptively in the upcoming Matt Reeves' Batman film; Benioff & Weiss have "exited" Star Wars, and by exited, we think they got fired; Ant-Man 3 and Into the Spiderverse 2 have finally been confirmed and to round the episode out, we review the sequel to Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, Doctor Sleep! 

Not much else here, guys, just a review of Taika Watiti's JoJo Rabbit! 

Taylor hated Gemini Man, Joel loved El Camino, and Lauren didn't see EITHER of those movies!  Paul Dano & Zoe Kravitz join Dick Pattinson in Matt Reeves' The Batman, Kevin Feige consolidates MORE power over at Marvel, and we all shiver with pleasure over the Rise of Skywalker trailer!  We round this podcast out with a concise little Zombieland 2: Double Tap review!  (it's a short review for a reason... )  All of this AND MORE, on this week's episode of Pop! This week starts off with a solid trailer round up!  The Gentlemen, 6 Underground, The Kingsman and Birds of Prey all dropped new trailers this last week and boy howdy are (three of them at least) they great!  For your meat and potatoes, Tom Holland apparently had an integral role in Disney and Sony making up and Kevin freaking Feige is coming to the Star Wars universe with an unknown project down the pipeline.  

Lauren Sperling may as well live in Taylor's garage because she's back AGAIN for this week's episode! Amongst a bevy of Nerd News, the gang reviews Colin Trevorrow's (boooo) new Jurrasic World short film, "The Battle at Big Rock."  

It's a HUGE news week everyone so let's just dive right in!  Lauren has finally caught up on The Boys, James Bond 25 has a title, the Keanu-ssance has peaked with the announcement of The Matrix 4, and D23 is this weekend where Taylor will be reporting LIVE from the field!  The juiciest news to be squeezed this week is that Sony and Disney are in a custody battle over Spider-Man.  50/50? 70/30? 80/20?  WHAT'S A FAIR DEAL!?  Tune in to find out what the fuck is happening! 

Look, we've talked about the Avengers Endgame Blu-Ray a few times on the show, but it's out now, and Taylor's name is on the back. Go buy it. NOW! This week the guys start with a chat about what they've been watching; Taylor jumped on the Amazon train with The Boys & Joel is relating a little to closely with HBO's Euphoria.  Taika Watiti's new film, Jo Jo Rabbit has a new trailer out and it's pleasently weird; Shang Chi & Thor: Love & Thunder are both shooting in Australia; and the Zombieland 2: Double Tap trailer slightly disappoints! Your main course this week is a stoned review of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood!  We love Quentin Tarantino, but does the movie NEED to be almost three hours long!? We know, we know we didn't post a new episode every night of the con... but we DO have a very good reason for that, and it's in this SUPERSIZED recap episode!  We talk about every goddamn offsite event that exists, every goddamn hotel bar that we drank at, every goddamn (this one is an exaggeration) trailer that was realeased over the weekend, and the big kahuna itself: HALL H !  Look, we know that Westworld, The Walking Dead, and Star Trek all had panels in Hall H... but so did MARVEL and that's all that really matters when they're announcing the highly anticipated Phase Four!  And yes, I do use too many exclamation points!
