In today's episode, the Eyre's give us the history of the FAMILY.IS awards which recognize the best online marriage and parenting resources, and discuss the role of conferences and gatherings in helping moms and dads do their jobs better. Today the Eyre's discuss two podcasts, "IN THE ARENA with the Eyre Sisters" and "Couple Things" with Shawn Johnson and Andrew East--and point out that while "social media" may strike fear and dread in the hearts of many parents, there are great, family-focused "influencers" that can help our families. Their daughters talk about growing up in the Eyre family and now raising their own, and Shawn and Andrew represent still another generation of younger families.

In this new episode, Richard and Linda continue their series of three-letter concepts, and focus on our attitudes toward AGE, which is perceived so differently in various parts of the world. Then they drill down to the personal level and discuss "the joys of growing older" and the ways that parents and grandparents can form synergistic teamwork in how children and grandchildren are raised. Richard and Linda are still in London this week, and start today's show with some observations about the West End Theater district and the powerful symbolism of a couple of new productions--which leads into the October Gratitude Journal challenge--to write down each day a blessing that we don't deserve, have not earned, and could never repay, often connected to Christ's Atonement, the greatest of all gifts.

Finishing their "spiritual creation" trip in France with four of their older children and their spouses, the Eyre's broadcasted today from London and focused on the goal that many parents have of raising children who are "Citizens of the World" who view other cultures, religions, and customs positively and with tolerance and appreciation. They are joined on the second half of the show by their son Jonah who comments on the "Citizens" subject.

Today's episode comes to us from Paris where the Eyre's are gathering with some of their children, particularly the ones that live in Europe. Richard and Linda follow up on their Grandparenting 101 Zoom course that started last week, and are then joined by Saren, Shawni, and Saydi, three of the four daughters who have just launched a new podcast called In The Arena with the Eyre sisters. Together, they talk from Paris about "Intentional, Deliberate Parenting."

Today the Eyre's cast from Balboa and talk about their speaking and workshops in Huntington Beach this week to 500 entrepreneurs who had gathered from around the world to think about and work on their Relationship Skills. The goal, for them and for us all, say Richard and Linda, is to be as proactive and strategic and deliberate about the Family corner of our balance-triangle as we are about the Work corner and the Self corner.

The Eyre's join us on this episode from the Big Apple where they are visiting some of their grandkids and going to the U S Open Tennis, Richard's (but also Linda's) passion. As always in the first week of a month, they challenge us to a new twist in our gratitude journals, focusing each day on being thankful for one thing we do not control--from our digestion or sweat glands to the sunset or the weather. The idea is to focus our gratitude this month on Serendipity and Stewardship.

This week the Eyre's continue and conclude their discussion of their three-letter lesson "Mek," and talk about humility and "nothingness" as the antidote for the division, discord, dissension, and disrespect that infests our politics, our church congregations, and our families. Highlighting quotes from C. S. Lewis, G. K. Chesterton, and Richard Rohr they conclude with President Russell M. Nelson's three word summary.

On today's episode, Richard and Linda explore the word-peg concept of "Nothingness" or being truly and powerfully and humbly "Meek." (Shortened to MEK for this three-letter lesson series.) They make the claim that the scriptural admonition to "remember your own nothingness" is connected to 17 incredible promises and is the key to unity and harmony in our homes.

The Eyre's are now working with thousands of grandparents and with three-generation families on making the deliberate, coordinated effort and decisions that make children's lives better. It sounds counter-intuitive--being grateful for opposition and problems and adversity, but actually these things are an important and essential part of thankfulness and gratitude. As on every first week of the month, Richard and Linda issue a challenge on a new approach to gratitude journals for the month ahead, and for August their challenge is to write down an obstacle each day and how we either resolved it or embraced it.

This episode is devoted to vision, dreams, and the ENDS that we want to work toward in our lives. The Eyre's begin with some final end-notes on their Family Reunion that has just concluded and then move to their three-letter lesson series where END becomes the focus, along with the MEANS or plans that get us to our desired family and relationship goals or ends. It is our envisioned ends that can guide and direct our whole lives!

Linda and Richard have just concluded their annual Family Reunion, so relationships and extended family are on their minds. They pose the question of which is most important, our achievements or our relationships, and ask "which can we take with us" and suggest that the time we spend in contact with all three generations of our families--including cousins and in-laws, is the most important time of all.

The Eyre's just returned from a Motorhome road trip with four teenage granddaughters, and today they talk about their tradition of taking small groups of similar age grandkids on little trips away from distractions, parents, school, friends and "normal life" where real cousin-bonding can occur and where meaningful conversation and relationships can form between generations 1 and 3.

On today's episode, Richard and Linda talk about their upcoming family reunion, about their new grandparenting class, and focus on gratitude for relationships and on a new technique for setting "relationship goals" for how you want individual family relationships to be five years from now. The Eyre's challenge themselves, and each of us, to write a one paragraph description of those future relationships in our gratitude journals.

The Eyre's are casting today from Blakley Island in the San Juan Islands where they are visiting their son Jonah and his family who are spending the summer running the marina and store on the Island. Richard and Linda point out how all parents throughout the world share the goal of raising Joyful, Responsible, Sensitive Children, we all find our own methods for doing so. Jonah and Aja's example is extreme in some ways, but it will prompt our own ideas.
