Pastor Mike continues in Matthew 25 discussing the parables that Jesus spoke concerning what we need to be doing as the end of time nears. Jesus is very clear that as the end nears, we are to stay busy working in the kingdom of God while we have the opportunity. This discussion helps us understand that we all have unique abilities that are to be celebrated and encouraged. Each person in the family of God has a job they are uniquely qualified to do. The question is, are we all working our gift so as to bear a return He will be pleased with when He returns?

Pastor Mike presents the parable that Jesus taught on the wise and foolish virgins. In this Jesus says there were 5 foolish and 5 wise and then he goes on to describe why. The question for us today is very clear, are we living our lives wisely by watching and being ready for the coming of the Lord in our lives? It's to our benefit to stay active in the kingdom and to keep our "first love" fresh and alive in the process of living as a wise person in preparation of the coming King.

This love is like God is, immeasurable, uncontainable, and unlimited in it's ability to motivate and fulfill our lives. Pastor Mike talks about how victorious Christian handles the adversity of life when it seems the hardest. Jesus is once again the perfect example of how He dealt with the hard things and the temptations of compromise to make things easier. Jesus had opportunity to compromise His mission to become the perfect sinless sacrifice for our sin, and only through His deliberate action and intention of thriving through the hardest part of life did He become our Savior. Pastor Mike presents a review of our Mission Statement. It's important to know one's destination in life so that you know when you get there and also to have a measuring stones along the way to monitor progress. Today's message is a good discussion of what it means to be "Heavenly Effective thru Earthly Relevance". We are all encouraged to set Heaven as our destination and then work backwards to be sure that we arrive there with many eternal rewards already laid up. We're instructed to do just that and when we do, we find life so much more meaningful even in the temporary pleasures God gives... Pastor Mike concludes the series on Jesus Letters to the Seven Churches with this discussion on the church of Laodicea. This is a hard sermon to preach in a church that is striving to live a life pleasing to the Lord. Yet even so, it's the truth of God's Word and we need to proclaim it and apply it as it needs to be. Jesus always sees and declares what is truth, and He does so because He loves us so. It is to our benefit that we hear and apply as He exhorts... The promise is given to us that as we overcome, He is faithful and true and will give us the best seat in eternity, the right to sit with Him on the throne of God. AMEN & AMEN...

Former NFL standout Defensive End Joe Jackson from the famed Minnesota Viking's "Purple People Eaters" speaks and sings God's Word for us. Joe emphasized for those that have embraced the love of Jesus and accepted his forgiveness of our sins, we all become a part of the "Family of God" without exception. God looks at mankind equally regardless of gender, race, economic status, ethnic backgrounds, it doesn't matter to God... He's the creator of us all and He loves us just the way He made us. Pastor Mike is continuing in the series of Jesus letters to the seven churches. This week we discuss the 2nd of two churches Jesus finds no rebuke with. This is the Philadelphia Church, meaning "Brotherly Love". We find this church to be of "little strength" at the time of this writing yet they remain faithful to Jesus by not denying his name. We find Jesus delighting in them as they are willing to use the "little strength" they have to stay faithful in the fight. This is a great encouragement for us today that are "weak and have little strength" as well. God uses the little we have to do great things in the kingdom. Pastor Mike continues the series on the letters of Jesus to the seven churches. This week we speak on the fifth church of the seven named Sardis. We will see that Sardis was past it's prime yet had a reputation of being alive and vibrant on the outside, but as always, Jesus looks past the physical and the obvious and looks into the heart. It's alarming what He sees; even though their reputation is a church alive, Jesus sees them as dead! This should make one stop and think about what Jesus sees in them and in their church. We will see in Jesus letter that he sees their works of good deeds and hard work. Yet He also sees that they are allowing a compromising Spirit of Jezebel work in their midst. This is a spirit of compromise with the worldly culture of the day and certainly of our day. This study brings out the serious nature of allowing compromise to fit in to the world system at the risk and cost of generational spiritual death...
