This is the first time that Pastor Hannah Branigan has had the opportunity to speak to Center Point since she and her husband Tyler have become our Family LIfe Pastors. So we are excited to hear what God has laid on her heart in the area of Jesus sending us out in what is known as the "Great Commission". This is the first of 4 messages on the Laws of the Harvest. This week we are speaking on the Law of Investment, which simply says one only reaps if they sow. Basically, if you don't plant a tomato seed, you won't get a tomato. Pretty simple concept, yet there are some very deep and profound truths to be gleaned that impacts our whole life. I've heard it said that "mom is another word for love" and I think in many ways mom is also very similar to Jesus. Moms and Jesus have many common characteristics and today we are celebrating mothers. We will discuss how similar the love of a mother and the love of Jesus are similar. Seems like God wanted to talk about Holiness some more... Pastor Mike references Michael Brown's book, "Go and Sin No More" in today's message. We find that Jesus taught nothing other than truth even if the truth was hard to hear. Jesus challenges us all to cut off everything that would hinder or negatively influence our holiness for our own good and that we would never become a stumbling block for anyone watching us. This is a "meaty" message, one that must be taken seriously as God would have us consider how seriously He takes sin. He asked Jesus His Son to die for it, so it's only consistent that He would ask us to do like wise. To put sin to death in our lives... Easter is when we celebrate the greatest gift - the empty tomb. The empty tomb means life for us and it also means that Jesus is everything He ever claimed to be and that all of God's Word is true. It is the foundation for our hope and our faith in an eternal life yet to come. The gift of eternal life is for every person that would accept the gift by asking Jesus to take up residence in their heart, to leave the tomb and to live in us. Being the Holy Week, the last week of Jesus's earthly life, what better illustration of Holiness than to examine the meaning of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples. There is much for us to learn from the simple yet profoundly humble act of Jesus, bending down and washing the feet of the men that he walked with and lived life with over the most important 3 years of his life. We learn that holiness is true humility and that it requires a process of cleanliness from the dust and dirt of walking in a dirty and broken world. We're continuing to discuss Holiness in regards to our relationship with God and how we are to be careful not to allow our attempts to be Holy to slip into a legalistic mindset. Legalism is the evil twin to holiness in that it may do many of the same things but with a wrong motivation that totally misses the mark of developing a relationship. We are instructed to "perfect holiness" through the power of empowering Grace that the Holy Spirit will give us as we ask Him to provide. Listen in to understand what this means and looks like...

This is a continuing discussion on legalism and the other extreme end of being a libertarian, where almost anything goes because some may have the misunderstood understanding of "living under Grace". Legalism certainly misses the mark of truly having a relationship with the Holy Spirit that makes one "Christ-like", the person may do many of the right things, but with the wrong heart motivation and sadly they miss the life-giving relationship that Jesus would give because their focus is on themselves versus the LOVE of HIs Heavenly Father. Holiness changes us from the inside out, where legalism focuses on the outside appearance of human effort. Too much to say, so take a few minutes and listen in and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal His heart to you and enjoy the living relationship of our Father's Holiness...

Pastor Mike is continuing to speak on the holiness of God and His Love for us and how much He desires us to be Holy as He is. This week we are discussing the differences of the legalistic mindset and that of the Holy Conviction that the Holy Spirit brings. The enemy of our soul is very present in the world of legalism because he uses the law of God against us. Legalism steals the joy of an obedient heart, while holiness through proper understanding not only brings the Joy but it protects as well. This message is taken from a chapter in John Bevere's book, "Killing Kryptonite" and it challenges us with our priorities in life. God allows many good things in our life and if we're not very careful we can find ourselves allowing them to have a higher priority than God. In some ways these can be areas of testing in our life, are we going to seek the blessing over the blesser? Listen in and ask God to reveal the areas that we allow the good and neutral things to subtly take us away from the true relationship with Jesus that is the most important thing in all life...

Pastor Mike takes this week to review and finish the discussion began the previous week on Condemnation and Conviction. We all know that God loves all people, and if it were totally up to Him would have everyone come to a relationship with Him thru repentance and acceptance of His Son Jesus. Yet, because of the free choice that He gave to man, everyone choices on their own. God is both a loving and a just God, and by man's own choice they are either condemned by God as an unbeliever or convicted by God as a believer. These discussions on God's Holiness are getting very interesting and challenging. This week we are discussing the difference between "condemnation" and "conviction' and asking the question should either be a part of a Christian's life? Why do so many people struggle with these feelings? Are they Biblical? Toward the end, Pastor Mike gets a little emotional when it comes to allowing the discipline of God's Holy Conviction into our lives. This series of God's Holiness is becoming very interesting. This message today concerning being Holy in regards to relationship with God is probably one of the key concepts that the enemy of our soul wants us to be ignorant of. Holiness gives us the path to relationship and it's only thru the shed blood of Jesus that we have opportunity to be in relationship with God the Father IF we CHOOSE to receive thru repentance and forgiveness. We introduced the Hebrew word 'Aharit' as being the back, or end result of our life and how that helps us to see our future. Today we are digging a little deeper in this very important concept. If we can truly understand this simple principle it will really help set us free from the mistakes of yesterday and see how God can use them to give us future according to His plan.
