The Democrats seem to have an unhealthy obsession with Net Neutrality. At an event held in Washington, Senators Ed Markey (D-MA) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), in addition to Rep. Mike Doyle (D-PA) appeared with Fight for the Future (FFTF), a leftist group headed in part by Evan Greer, a fringe radical and a vocal supporter of al-Qaeda terrorists. The purpose of the event is to convince at least one more Republican senator to back a repeal of the FCC's December order to lift cumbersome Net Neutrality regulations. Brian Maloney of Media Equalizer will drop in to discuss their efforts to expose Evan Greer and the Democrats support of Net Neutrality. In the name of school safety, the left wants to take guns away from people who had nothing to do with shooting-up a school. The right wants to arm more people and train them to be more tactical. The problem is that there is very little conversation going on, just a lot of arguing and virtue signaling. Let's start at the simplest part of this discussion, gun control and school safety are two different topics and while gun restrictions might be considered a part of a safety plan if you focus on guns alone then you're never going to get to a solution for really making schools safer. On Saturday, House Democrats released a heavily redacted version of the memo that was created to counter Republican claims that top FBI and DOJ officials abused the FISA program to spy on a member of the Trump campaign. About a year ago we were talking about "Mack" Beggs winning the UIL state wrestling title. Beggs won again this year and still doesn't understand why people are upset about it. The Seattle Times jumped at a "news" tip: there was a Confederate flag flying beneath the American flag in the city's Greenwood neighborhood, and residents were very concerned. Only, it turns out, it wasn't the Confederate flag at all. The Trump administration will not be bullying schools into letting boys into the girl's bathrooms, locker rooms, etc. like the Obama administration did. FBI Director James Comey held a secret Oval Office meeting with President Barack Obama two weeks before Trump’s inauguration and may have deliberately misled Congress about it. Jose Inez Garcia Zarate is accused of being an ex-felon in possession of a gun and being an undocumented person in possession of a gun at the time of the shooting of Kate Steinle on July 1, 2015. Guess where the U.S. got ranked. Superior Court Judge David Lampe denied the State of California’s request for a preliminary injunction that sought to force bakeshop owner Cathy Miller to design a wedding cake for a gay couple. A teacher at a government-funded pre-apprenticeship academy in Bristol, England, has been given the pink slip for telling a lesbian student "God loves you." Student activists and community members helped to get a production of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" canceled at an Ithaca, New York high school after a white student was cast in a lead role. According to authorities, Amtrak 91 collided with the freight train just outside of the state's capital of Columbia around 2:35 a.m. EST, sending 70 of its 140 passengers to area hospitals. President Trump gave his first official State of the Union address last night and there were few if any surprises. Still, there is a lot worth talking about. Today in the first hour, I'll be joined by Melanie Morgan, national spokeswoman and co-founder of MediaEqualizer.com, to discuss the media coverage of and the Democratic response to the SOTU address. At the top of the second hour, I'll be joined by Brian Bosché, Chief Operating Officer at The Millennial Solution, to discuss the Millennial reaction to the SOTU address. Millennials are making up a larger percentage of the voting block moving into the next two election cycles so there is good reason to watch for trends and shifts in millennial political thinking. 

The Trump administration has indicated that it has no problems with allowing states to impose work requirements in Medicaid, a major policy shift in the health program for low-income people. Federal officials said they would support state efforts to require able-bodied adults to engage in work or other "community engagement activities" as a condition of eligibility for Medicaid. Meanwhile, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced that New York will continue to provide some illegal immigrant Dreamers with access to government-run Medicaid insurance no matter what happens in Washington. State taxpayers will bear all costs for the coverage because federal law prohibits federal taxpayers from paying for illegal immigrants. In my mind, this gives the Trump administration the chance to do something that previous administrations never thought to do, honestly evaluate the value of each government job that will be affected by the shut-down. California Attorney General Xavier Becerra said that the "sanctuary state" will prosecute any private business that helps federal immigration authorities as they seek to enforce immigration laws. Becerra’s threat comes as fears continue to mount among Democratic leaders in California that federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are planning massive raids throughout the state. Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton's top aide, backed up many of her work-related emails to Anthony Weiner's laptop after Clinton left the State Department in early 2013, the Daily Mail writes after an examination of her emails. But Abedin told the FBI that she "lost most of her old emails as a result of the transition" from the State Department. U.S. District Judge William Alsup, an appointee of President Bill Clinton, ruled that DACA must stay intact while litigation is played out. The Iran protests are almost two weeks old. In his New Year's address, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un boasted that he has “a nuclear button always on my desk," warning that the entire American mainland is within range of his country’s missiles.
