Pastor Mike speaks on what it means to honor Sabbath Rest as God defines the Sabbath. We see throughout the Bible that God gives a number of commands to His people. He is a taskmaster, yet what we can observe of these commands is that they are ALWAYS for our benefit and NEVER for our demise, even if we don't understand or agree with them. This week he makes the statement that Heaven is worth living for, and he backs it up with a message of God's righteous judgment of our life on earth. The Bible is pretty clear saying that every person will give an account of their life as an individual. This is at the "Judgment Seat of Christ" or the Bema seat. This judgment will be a time of evaluation and compensation, and it will be a perfect evaluation of our actions while we were alive. As we continue our study on Heaven, the question is asked and discussed today: Are you Planning for Heaven? If so, How? Planning is a very important part of our lives. We plan for every major and many minor events in our life and no one has an issue over that. In fact, if you don't plan you're looked down upon and considered as unwise. So, if planning is so important in this temporary life we are living, why don't we spend more time discussing and proactively making plans for Heaven, which lasts forever? That's the point of this message, it's time to plan for where we want to spend our eternity and in the process bring a little Heaven down to earth today...

What does the word Hosanna, rain, and God’s Reign have in common? We take a look at Palm Sunday and Jesus entry into Jerusalem through the lens of "Heavenly Effective through Earthly Relevance" - the mission statement of Center Point Assembly. If the crowds were praising Jesus and acclaiming Him as the Messiah, why then does the same crowd shout “crucify him” just 5 days later? In our life, we often call out to God to save us in apparent worship. And, God is always faithful to answer our cries for salvation with His saving presence. Yet, so many times we miss the saving presence of God in our life circumstances because we only want to receive God’s help in specific ways. Even now in our lives, are we missing God’s presence to deliver us from our earthly circumstances? Heaven is a topic that is worth much discussion yet quite possibly it may be one of the least topics spoken about. Why is that? Maybe we are too overwhelmed with how to describe it or that we don't think the Bible tells us very much about it. The life that God has planned for His children is amazing and He's very excited about sharing it with us. Pastor Mike is continuing to review the Mission Statement of Center Point Assembly which applies to every person in every church worldwide. This is not an isolated mission, rather this is something that can be applied in the life of every believer and every church regardless of where they live. Every person someday is going to stand before the God of all creation and give an account of how they worked with Him in His Kingdom to bring restoration and redemption to the broken state which it's in. The reality is, we broke and God is asking us to get involved with Him to fix it. That's a part of being "earthly relevant" in order to have a 'heavenly effective" reward. Pastor Mike is reviewing the mission statement of Center Point and what it means to be "Heavenly Effective thru Earthly Relevance". It's pretty apparent that everyone wants to be in Heaven, whatever that means for them. So before we can talk about being "Effective" there we need to talk about "Heaven" first and how one gets there. And then, what does it mean to be "Earthly Relevant" and why is that important for our Heavenly experience? It's important for us to understand that for everyone that does make Heaven their eternal home, their Heavenly experience will be similar in many ways and also very different. After finishing the series on Prayer, specifically praying the Lord's Prayer I was reminded that for our prayers to be effective and meaningful on how we are to have a proper "fear of the Lord". So what does this look like and mean? To fear God is not to be afraid of God but rather to have a reverential and awesome fear of God that is in some ways beyond describing. This is one of those mysterious sides of God that we just have to experience more than explain. However, it's only when we have this fear of God is when Jesus can tell us to fear not. This is the final message in the series on Prayer - specifically praying the Lord's Prayer. This has been a journey in trying to understand as much as we can about the way Jesus taught His disciples to pray. It's amazing that this prayer touches on every aspect of our lives. This prayer begins and ends with worship. Today, we are focusing on the absolute necessity of praise and worship and recognizing that God is worthy of all glory and honor. We are going to talk about what a "Godly Kingdom" looks like, about the "Power of God" to create and sustain all things and all the "Glory" is due Him alone. As we are proceeding through our study on the Lord's Prayer we are finding that God knew how we needed to pray because He knew that the world we were going to be living in was not going to be easy. So Jesus instructs us to ask for God to lead us and deliver us from the temptations and the evils of this twisted world. We find great comfort in knowing that God is with us and he will never lead us and leave us to fend off the evils of this world by ourselves. Freedom is every person's dream, without exception. I truly can't think of a person that would choose bondage over freedom in any situation. Yet why is it that many if not most of us walk around in a state of bondage? And quite possibly we may not even realize we are bound until we observe another person experiencing freedom in the area that we struggle in. As we continue to examine the way Jesus taught us to pray, we find the clue that gives us true freedom - It comes thru forgiveness. First being forgiven and then forgiving others. Certainly, that's a part of it, that we should be thankful for the daily blessings that God gives us, but we're going to find there's much more than food that we need daily. We're beginning to speak on the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples to pray as they asked. As we've mentioned in previous messages, there was something obviously different about the life of Jesus and the disciples recognized it as in the way Jesus prayed. So they asked him to teach them.
