Episode #102 04/24/2025 [LIFE DESIGN] What is Life Design
24/04/2025 Duración: 31minI saw this great illustration on LinkedIn (see link below) that distinguished between two types of burn-out. The first illustration was straight forward and you can see my reply to it below, but the second one depicted a phenomenon I would characterize as "living a life without purpose/passion". I will refer to this as feeling "extinguished" since the flame goes out in the illustration. If you are feeling "extinguished" or like life doesn't have purpose, I would suggest you consider the words of Socrates who said, "The unexamined life is not worth living." How can one life a life full of joy, purpose, and passion if one hasn't examined what one needs to feel those things? That's like getting into a boat and expecting it to get you somewhere you want to be without a course or a compass and maybe without even a destination (gasp!) Episode #100.3 4/10/2025 [PLANNING] [PARENTING] Part 3: Alegre Helps Her Friend Christine Create an Actionable Plan
12/04/2025 Duración: 25minMost people don't achieve their goals (92% footnote 1). Perhaps it's because they don't set them at all. I've heard that most people don't set goals (perhaps as high as 80%) and that even fewer write them down (I've heard from 3-10%).In my experience, the big disconnect between what people want to achieve and actually achieving it centers around the fact that people haven't learned how to think strategically about the steps required to work towards their goals. In this 100th episode (!) of my podcast, we address this issue with examples to help you understand how you might break a goal down into its parts.Part 3: My friend Christine shares her thoughts on the first two parts and then we talk about her goal to raise resilient children. I love this goal not only because it's very relatable, but also because of it's "ephemeral" nature. I give her some ideas on how to make it more concrete and easier to implement on a daily basis.Website:

Episode #99.2 4/3/2025 [PLANNING] Part 2: The 70% Rule to Success
06/04/2025 Duración: 15minMy goal is not to turn you into a productivity robot. I don't want to show you how to do more things, I want to show you how to do more of what matters to you. In part two I explain the 70% rule of success. In our world of excess, it's a common assumption that you have to "give it your all" to be successful. I've found this not to be true and -- in fact -- counterproductive. Seventy-percent is accessible and sustainable!

25/03/2025 Duración: 10minIt seems like AI is everything, everywhere, all at once. However, environmental impact aside (it's not good by the way), some people are promoting it as a way to plan. I discuss why this is completely counterproductive (kind of like asking AI to exercise for you!)
