  • 128 Opening Muskoka’s first dedicated Gluten-Free Facility with Stephanie Dunn from Beat the Wheat in Muskoka

    24/08/2020 Duración: 49min

When you think gluten-free, do you think flavour free? Texture free? Taste free? I know I once did, until I started finding gluten-free options to my typical pastas & pastries that actually tasted BETTER than anything I could find at a conventional grocery store. Yepp, it’s possible. In today’s episode I am sitting down with Stephanie Dunn, the co-owner of Muskoka’s first dedicated Gluten Free Facility and Sit-Down Restaurant, The Pasta Shoppe. The Pasta Shoppe by Beat the Wheat is the brainchild of owner’s Stephanie &  her husband Adam. Their shop features an incredible array of products ranging from fresh gluten free pastas, gluten free entrees, gluten free Breads & pastries. As I mentioned earlier, The Pasta Shoppe by Beat the Wheat is the only restaurant in Muskoka that is 100% gluten-free and peanut-free - and though some critics may have worried that there wasn’t a large enough market for these types of products in canada’s cottage country, Steph and Adam have proved that that is just simply

  • 117 Become More Visible to Grow Your Business with Stephanie Long

    22/06/2020 Duración: 47min

Today on the show, I’m chatting with my friend Stephanie Long, who is a Business Coach for Nutritionists! She helps nutritionists to build their programs, reach more clients & successfully launch their business! When Steph and I first connected via Instagram about 1.5 years ago, we were instantly intrigued by the very similar life paths that we had both followed. I guess you could say we were kindred spirits. Through getting to know one another-- we discovered that we were both students at the same Campus of The Canadian School of Natural Nutrition just a mere 6 months apart-- and both of us actually went on to become teachers of the Business Course there. Our similarities continued to surprise us -- some of them being that we both have coaching businesses which now focus on business coaching, whereas it was previously nutrition coaching… and we have both lived in the same neighbourhood in Toronto, without knowing each other. I’m so grateful that Instagram connected us, and allowed us to become friends.

  • 113 I Can Do Better, I Will Do Better

    05/06/2020 Duración: 22min

I’ll start with something that I saw Netflix post about… To be silent is to be complicit. Black lives matter. We have a platform, and we have a duty to our Black members, employees, creators and talent to speak up. I’ve not been overly vocal, for fear of getting it wrong,⠀ But I also don’t want to stay silent.⠀ I’m sure many of you can echo that sentiment.   It’s not often that I think about my own privilege as a white woman, but then again my daily life protects me from the daily fears that others live with.⠀ To be here… to be comfortable… to be podcasting… that is a privilege. To be here… to be comfortable… to have a platform… that is a privilege. To be here, to be comfortable, to feel safe… that is a privilege. But it shouldn’t just be a privilege that some can tap into. It should be for all. Equity in opportunity to create, to live and to express is deserved by all. I want to meet my vision of helping 7 billion people to live and lead their most visionary life, but we cannot do that without equality I

I routinely call my local Velofix Truck, Steve is my guy, and he comes over to give all 3 of my bikes a tune up. It’s seamless. It’s convenient. And it’s such a fun experience to talk to & learn from your mechanic while they work on your bike outside of your home. Chris is SO generous with his knowledge about starting and scaling a business inside this episode, and it was a true pleasure to hear the story behind the brand. He is a true visionary.   IT’S PRETTY NEAT TO IMAGINE A CONVERSATION BETWEEN 3 GUYS, CHATTING OVER BEERS, IN A GARAGE.. TURNED INTO WHAT VELOFIX IS TODAY WHICH IS A

What a crazy past couple of months it has been.
